This is how to tell if your PC is silently being used for something else
Most of the time, your computer does what you tell it to do. That being said, modern operating systems have to run dozens, or even hundreds, of background processes. This makes it easy for unwanted activity to hide in plain sight. Malware, unknown background processes, or unauthorized remote tools can quietly use your system resources showing no obvious signs. I realized this after noticing occasional spikes in CPU usage while my system was sitting idle. That pushed me to have a closer look at what’s actually in the background.
