Personal finance apps offer great insight into one's financial health, and there's no denying that. However, they can also be limiting, making them unhelpful — whether it's the constant nudge to upgrade, the ads, or the lack of control. I bounced back and forth between several apps that promised clarity in my personal finances. Ultimately, they just made me realize I was done with all the clutter, restrictions, and subscriptions.
