Everyone laughed at TempleOS, but its creator built something no one else could
TempleOS is one of the strangest operating systems ever created. Open it for the first time, and you’re greeted by chunky 16-color graphics, a 640x480 display straight out of the VGA era, and a command line that looks like it time-traveled from the early 1990s. There’s no internet support. No modern UI frameworks. No familiar desktop metaphors. It’s weird. Intensely weird. For years, the internet mostly treated TempleOS like a curiosity or a bizarre relic. Something programmers shared screenshots of because the interface looked so wildly out of place in a world of sleek desktops and polished mobile apps. But if you look past the aesthetics, something remarkable appears underneath.
