7 home maintenance jobs most people forget (but shouldn't)
Most homeowners have a mental checklist of the obvious stuff — test the sump pump, gutter cleaning, that kind of thing. Deep cleaning your dryer vent is another one that's made the rounds enough that most people at least know to do it. But below that well-worn list are more tasks you shouldn’t forget about. These are the jobs that don't announce themselves, don't trigger an alert, and don't cause obvious damage — until they do. I've been slowly working through my own home and realizing just how many of these I'd been putting off without even realizing it.
