5 signs your surge protector is actually useless
Most of us buy a surge protector for one reason. We want the cheap little brick on the floor to take the hit, so our laptop, TV, router, game console, and other expensive electronics do not have to. But did you know that surge protectors are essentially "consumable" devices? They have a finite lifespan, and once their internal defenses are spent, they revert to being nothing more than glorified, expensive extension cords.
