Almost everyone who uses Excel has that one function they’ve been relying on since college because it works well enough that they can avoid learning something new. That’s why you’ll still find VLOOKUP and CONCATENATE in brand-new files, even in 2026. I get it, because I still hesitate to dump SUBTOTAL for AGGREGATE after it has stood by me for so long.
