USB hubs have a big limitation that most product listings never mention
USB-C is the everything port, facilitating connections with storage drives, displays, networking equipment, external components, and other accessories. Still, few laptops and desktops have enough of the right ports to connect with all of a user's accessories. They turn to USB hubs and docks as a result, which add specialized or legacy ports while expanding the number of USB-C ports available. It's fantastic in theory — you can take one USB port on your computer and turn it into almost anything with the right adapter, hub, or dock. One port becomes many, but it's not that simple.
