Obsidian's real job isn't storing your notes — it's making you smarter while you write them

An Obsidian beginner (me included) will tell you about this early habit. We spend a lot of time building folder structures and feel productive. It took me some time to realize that dumping information isn't thinking. The uncomfortable truth is that a perfectly organized vault full of copy-pasted articles and saved URLs is no more useful than a browser full of bookmarks that die on the vine. Obsidian's real value isn't what it holds. It's what it nudges you to do every time you sit down to write in it.
